6 Top UK Family Holidays Suitable for Twins and Toddlers in 2018

2018 is well and truly over and it has been an amazing year full of UK family holiday fun for all of us at Twins and Travels. Not only have we been out and about on lots of adventures, but we also welcomed baby Matilda in June. She didn’t really have too much time to settle in before she got whisked off on her first overnight stay.  This also meant plenty of holidays whilst pregnant so I can give you plenty of tips on that if you are in the same position!

I have put together our favourite UK family holiday from the year and I know you will love them just as much as we have! I can guarantee that these properties won’t disappoint and that you will love staying at any one of them with your family, and in some cases, your children will love them even more!

The Dandelion Hideaway, Leicestershire

The Dandelion Hideaway is a luxury glamping site set in idyllic surroundings, green pastures and starry night skies. It is the perfect place to take a UK family holiday with twins and toddlers. You can bring the outside in and it offers the chance for adults to truly unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and for children to be children and run free.

Set on a private farm on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border, just 5 minutes from the historic town Market Bosworth. The farm is a working goat farm lead and managed by husband and wife team Farmer John and Sharon who open their doors and allow families experience farm life. As well as the goats, you can immerse yourself amongst the 13 very friendly Shetland ponies, chickens and ducks.

North Bradbury Farm, Farm Stay, Devon

North Bradbury Farm was our favourite UK family holiday holiday of 2018. It was action packed and full of farm yard fun with daily animal feeding, swimming pool fun and adventures in the woods as well as being just a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches. Exmoor is also just around the corner too.  However, we were on the farm for four days and we didn’t leave. With only two holiday cottages, it means that your farm experience is personal and you really can get stuck in.

As well as the animals, you will also find play areas to play in, streams to jump in, mud kitchens to get messy in, wilderness areas to have campfires in, ponies to ride, zip wires to zoom on and the warmest swimming pool to splash in. You will have a ball!

Greenwood Grange – Luxury Holiday Cottages, Dorset

If you are looking for somewhere with a little bit of luxury, then look no further – Greenwood Grange has it all and makes the perfect UK family holiday for family members of all ages. Just 2 ½ hours from London and set in Hardy country what could be better than a relaxing stay here. And yes, amazingly it was relaxing even with two toddlers in tow – Even I didn’t think that was possible!

Greenwood Grange is a small complex of cottages all completely set up for children. There is an indoor pool on site, large playroom and lovely outdoor play area with a huge teepee full of toys!

The Cowshed, Dorset

The Cowshed was just delightful. There is certainly no slumming it with twins and a baby here! Owned by Claudia Malpas, The Cowshed as it once was, is decorated and kitted out to the highest standard and believe it or not, despite being luxurious, it is great for children.

And now for the best bit – The playroom. The Cowshed has its very own playroom which is just next door to the main living space. You do have to go outside to get to this but it either gave us 5 minutes’ peace or the girls bought some of the toys back in to the lounge. It is totally safe for children to go between the two as the court yard has a tall gate to stop children escaping.

Kennel Farm, The New Forest

Kennel Farm is the perfect location for exploring the New Forest, Sailsbury or visiting many famous attractions such as Longleat and Peppa Pig World. Originally a working beef and sheep farm, they diversified into providing accommodation by renovating the existing farm barns and stables. There are no fancy frills at Kennel Farm, just an affordable, lovely place to stay with plenty of room and outside space to explore and for little ones to run about.
