BARNFEST – The Nurture Barn, Great Bardfield, Essex – Review

Do you live in Essex and are often not sure of where to take your toddler. Try giving ‘The Nurture Barn’, Great Bardfield a go. The girls love going to The Nurture Barn to have a play, and when Mel the owner invited us to come along to Barnfest, I felt rather excited – we had never been to a family festival before!

What a fun day the girls had. This festival is completely geared up for the under 5’s.

What can I do at the festival?

It was a day of music, dancing, pony rides, eating and meeting new twin friends!

All the classes were free and very hands on, interactive and the adults engaged with the children well. The downstairs of the barn was open for play too.

The pony rides were a great addition (at an extra cost) and a very nervous daddy watched Poppy loving it (noooo I can’t do twin ponies he thought!) but he had a sigh of relief when Tabitha cried when it was her go – ok so we may get one pony!

As well as the demonstrations, there were also several stands advertising children’s classes with engaging activities for them to enjoy (sand, water, playdough) and some selling artwork and jewellery.

Can you purchase food??

Yes. The food is delicious  and homemade. They run a smaller menu on festival days to ensure service is quick. You can choose from a variety of sandwiches, drinks and cakes and they also do children bags for £3 which include a sandwich, apple, packet of crisps and a drink.

Overall a lovely baby and toddler event that my girls rated 5*. They were asleep before we left the car park!
